Privacy Policy

Run Japan with Fumitaka is operated by Akiko Sekikawa, a sole proprietor in Japan. All services are delivered by runner Fumitaka Momose. In these pages, "I" and "me" refer to the service.

Run Japan with Fumitaka ("I") collects a small amount of information from runners outside Japan who want to race here: your name, how to reach you, and your running background. Here is exactly what I do with it.

1. Who runs this service

• Service: Run Japan with Fumitaka

• Runner and guide: Fumitaka Momose (pen name)
• Location: Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan (full address disclosed promptly on request)

2. What I collect

• What you enter in the inquiry form (Google Forms): name, email, country, running background, races or dates you're interested in, and your questions
• What we discuss by email or video call
• Payment records: payer name, amount and date. I never collect card numbers or bank passwords
• Photos taken during an in-person run, only with your consent
• Website usage data such as pages viewed, referrer and browser type (section 7)

3. Why I use it

• To answer your questions, prepare your race shortlist, and schedule calls and runs
• To invoice you and confirm payment
• To keep you safe on an in-person run, including knowing your emergency contact
• To publish your feedback or photos, only if you give separate permission
• To improve the service, using aggregated data that doesn't identify you

I don't use your information for anything else. I never sell or share mailing lists, and I won't add you to a newsletter without your consent.

4. Sharing with others

I don't share your information with third parties without your consent, except where required by law. If you run with members of my local running club, I only tell them your first name or nickname.

5. Service providers and international transfers

I use the following providers to run this service. Their servers may be outside Japan, mainly in the United States.

• Google LLC (US): inquiry form, email, video calls, website analytics
• Zoom Communications, Inc. (US): video calls (Google Meet may be used instead)
• Stripe, Inc. (US) and its affiliates: card payments
• Payoneer Inc. (US) and its affiliates: invoicing and receiving bank payments
• Card details you enter on a Stripe or Payoneer payment page go directly to that provider, never to me
• Cloudflare, Inc. (US): website hosting and delivery

6. How long I keep it

I delete your information two years after our last contact. Accounting records (invoices and payments) are kept for seven years as required by Japanese tax law. You can ask me to delete your information sooner at any time, except accounting records.

7. Cookies and analytics

This website may use cookies for basic analytics. This data doesn't identify you and is never linked to your name or contact details. You can turn cookies off in your browser settings.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or ask me to stop using or sharing it. If you live in the UK, the EU, California or another region with its own privacy law (such as the GDPR), you also have the rights that law gives you, including data portability, objecting to processing and complaining to your local data protection authority. Email the privacy contact above. I'll respond within 30 days after confirming your identity. There's no fee.

9. Under 18s

This service is for adults aged 18 and over. Anyone under 18 needs a parent's consent and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

10. Security

Only the operator and Fumitaka Momose handle your information. It's stored in accounts protected by a password and two-factor authentication.

11. Changes

I may update this policy when the law or the service changes. Any significant change will be posted on this page with its date.
